Incredible learning tool. It makes makes online lookups instantaneous. Very intuitive and informative especially if you're willing to learn the dictionary tags
can't work on some sites blocking javascript like chatgpt but on everything else, the extension works flawlessly
Works perfectly!
Works perfectly
Awesome extension, I've used it all the way from beginner Japanese to fluent and N1. If the definitions disappear like the below review, just press 'D' while the popup is showing and they will come back!
I love this extension, but every now and then, the meaning of the kanji stops appearing, defeating the purporse of this extension. Even when I restart my computer, it'll stay this way for a random amount of time before working normally again on a later day.
THIS IS SOOOO COOOL
NO LONGER WORKING
Great. Hovers over the kanji and provides the reading.
Thank you very much. Rikaikun is a very useful extension for both Chrome and Edge. However, I found the text-to-voice had changed to female voice from male voice. The male voice was very clear, but the female voice seems to be muffled and not vigorous. Is there any chance to change it back to male voice? Thank you again for this useful extension 'Rikaikun'. Warm regards, Yo
Been using this for a while now!! its really useful.
It isn't working at all for me. No pop ups or anything. It does have the "On" tag over the extension logo but it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Alero Inyang seems to have had a similar experience. Edit: ... I just had to refresh the browser after downloading the extension... バカみたいだ!(^_^;)
can't live without this extension thank you for my life
It's working on other sites, but I really need this for Wikipedia and it's not working there. Any way you can help?
I don't understand this... Rikaikun doesn't work at all! Nothing happens when I hover over Japanese text. No pop-up definition or reading, no text-to-speech, even though I enabled it in the Extension options. I thoroughly examined all the settings, and they remain default except for these: I've selected "On click" for site access, I've pinned the extension to my toolbar, I've enabled text-to-speech. It used to work well when I installed it the first time, but then it stopped abruptly. I removed it and tried reinstalling it to see if the same thing would happen again, but it didn't even work at first this time. I don't think the changes that I've made could interfere with the extension's functionality, and I've turned off my one other extension (I don't know what else could be interfering). I've tried using a shortcut to activate rikaikun; as I expected, it changes nothing. I'm really not sure what else the problem could be because I made sure that I didn't accidentally use a shortcut. I've looked at other similar extensions like yomichan, yomitan, and rikaitan, but I was hesitant to try them because my experience with rikaikan. I very breifly installed yomichan since I read only good reviews. I couldn't customize it before using though, like I can with rikaikun (which is much more straightforward), so I immediately removed it. Has anyone solved this problem or figured out the cause? Is there anyway I can fix this? I have even tried highlighting the text instead of just hovering over it. Could it be an update that I haven't installed yet for Chrome( There is that...)? :( (TLDR: Rikaikun is not working at all (legit) and i can't find a cause or solution. It is very frustrating because the extension is practically useless this way.)
Hello Extension Creator, wouldn't it be possible to use an AI API to translate the text into other languages?
I love it, but I can't find a way to make it start when I start the browser.
Could have more languages besides english. I have to use the translator anyway, so it's not useful.
Doesn't work at all...But maybe we need to do something about settings but not information about it so useless.
This extension is perfect but I notice some bugs: 1. It gets on the way whatever japanese text I am typing exp when the cursor is near the text 2. It often turns on the "hide definitions and show only reading" by itself. It's not like there is shortcut to it, right??
Love the app. but keyboard shortcut without clicking the icon would be super useful. Thank you.
Good for reading difficult Japanese words on the fly, but not that great for studying to put words into your long-term memory because there is no integration with Anki (AnkiConnect). If you can add Anki integration I would use this over Yomichan since the popup design is prettier.
